fellow Tasmanians..

Yesterday fellow Tasmanians Joe and Kym Rogers stopped in on a whirlwind tour of Provo.. They have been planing this trip for ages and last year we were joking around saying "maybe we will come and see you guys if you move to Provo"........ So here they were in Provo, after their long drive from Bryce Canyon we started the afternoon off with some shopping at the bookstore and then we all hoped in a buggy and took the BYU campus tour..

The girls got early out of school... YAY for the Rogers!!!!!

This house used to be the Presidents House, but now it's just a administration building...

(I did take lots of photo's but the computer wont let me rotate them!!!)

After the tour we went to the local walmart, then back to the bookstore, followed to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the museum and finally of to dinner... and where did we go??????

I'm not going to tell ya... you will have to ask the Rogers when they come back?????

YW's Broadcast..

Yesterday we drove to Salt Lake City to attend the YW's Broadcast.. We were very excited and it was also to have some people to share it with.. Elaine and Emma (fellow Aussie's) came with us....

It was a bit cold, but we didn't mind... We were attending Conference.. YAYAYAYAYA!!!!!!!

It seems like everyone was getting there at the last minute. We were just on time, just a bit of traffic on the I15...When we got into the Conference Center, we found our section, which ended up being full.. Since no-one was saving us seats, the kind lady said we could go down the front...

We had really good seats close to the screen and the to see the speakers..

Phebe was really happy to be there.. Not as happy as Sister Dalton... She is just too happy....

We are grateful for Sis Harrison who got us the tickets.. Our ward has one of the biggest youth, but yet our ward only received 8 tickets...

Off we go again next weekend for General Conference..

Goodbye March!!

Tonight BYU lost to Florida and that means that they don't continue any further in "March Madness"......
Also means that BYU say goodbye to Jimmer, he is a senior and will get picked up the the NBA draft next season...

BYU will miss being JIMMERED!!!!

I will miss the MAD supporters......

and all the Jimmer heads.......

Bring on November when ' Charles will be in charge".........

BYU Arts..

Last night the lovely Susan Lloyd asked me to accompany her to the Martha Graham Dance Company performance, part of the BYU Performing Arts Series.. I'm not much an "arty" person.However I do make some serious moves on the dance floor, so I was looking forward to it...

The Dance Company was one of the first contemporary dance company's that started in New York in 1925.. The performance consecrated on Martha's first lot of dance compositions...

I really enjoyed it and the dancers were amazing and very talented.....I have also been to the BYU museum to see the Carl Bloch exhibition... Carl Bloch is a famous painter and alot of his work is publish in our church publications...

This photo has been on the cover of the monthly Ensign magazine... It was great seeing the paintings and it was an very popular exhibit...

You could even get and ipad with headphones to inform you more about the paintings....

So BYU isn't all about sport.....

On Saturday we headed back to the 80's for Laura's 30th birthday.. Laura picked 80's cause she was born in 1981... Oh to be so young..... During the week Elaine and myself went over to Laura's house to make some decorations.. This is where I got my idea for a costume.. Laura was having a Pacman cake and that's where I got the idea from... So off to the Dollar Tree shop I went....

On campus they have this big Multi-purpose building where you can hold parties, there was a baby shower in the afternoon so I'm guessing it gets used alot...

It was a great night, I even had a slow dance with Gaz and danced like a kid to "wake me up before you GO-GO".. Didn't win anything in the trivia though.....

Laura looked cool in her purple skirt and Elaine in her bright yellow t-shirt.....

Thanks for inviting us Laura we had a blast...........

Goodluck Cougars...

Tonight we went down to the Marriott Center to go to the BYU Cougars send off.. Both the women's and men's team won the MWC championship... And are heading to Vegas tomorrow to compete in March Madness.. After we stalked the players so we could get some photo's with them..
Gaz was happy he got his photo with Brandon Davies...( Eliza's favourite player )

Phebe favourite player is Jackson Emery, he was named Defensive Player of the Year....

Jackson was very popular....

Logan is a senior and he stayed the longest out off all the players which was good as there was alot of people hanging around..

Noah Hartsock had an awesome season and picked up an Honorable Mention at the basketball awards..

The girls don't get the same attention as the men's even though they only lost 1 game the whole season..

Kim Parker is Phebe favourite women's player and will be playing next season....

Unfortunately BYU's No 1 Player Jimmer Fredette didn't come out and meet the crowds how stayed around after the send off....

But we did run into Trent (Dallin H Oaks grandson) BYU cougars No 1 fan.. Trent and Robbie (previous post) are heading down to Vegas to cheer them on...

home sweet home

On campus there is another Aussie family living here. The Haynes Family are from Queensland and had to return to Australia for a short trip to visit a family member.. Elaine asked me before she left was there anything I was missing... At first i didn't think I was, then I thought for a while.. Real MILO would be good, we can get stuff like it here, but its made in Africa or Switzerland..
Red frogs are my favourite all time food (wing dings comes a close second)....
Today I got a nice surprise from Elaine......
I'm still laughing about the Blutack.....
But the girls have already used it!!!!

P.s as soon as we opened the milo we dunk our fingers in it!!! SO GOOD!!!!

Cougar Fans, It's time!!

Since after the Wednesday night's game loyal BYU students have set their tents up outside the Marriott Center for Saturdays last home game for the season.....

I would say that there is about 100 tents up, but they have to get them down by a certain time on game day, so when we went down this morning most of them had been taken down...

Besides the tents there are also hundreds of students lining up without tents... Some students have brought a season pass, but there are more season passes sold than seats, so best in best dressed!!! (well we think that's how it works).....

These two girls were happy to take a photo of them eating their free doughnut, it was still early and the game doesn't start til 1;30... (they give them free stuff thought out the morning)..

Robby is one of BYU biggest fan, his tent is always first or second spot... We caught him just as he was going to get changed for the game.. We are going to the game today and it will be the last home game for Jimmer and Emery ( No 1 & No 2 ranked players) ...

We can't wait til Jimmer says on the big screen...

Cougar Fans, it's time...

Not missing out!!

Last night my lovely friend Lisa King posted a pic on Facebook of a new flavour of Tim Tams that she had brought that day.. Mint with dark chocolate.......
I love mint chocolate ( i have been saving my last block of mint bubbly) and love Mint slice biscuits which Lisa says's they taste like.

Lisa said that they were on special for $4.98 for 3 pkts, so i thought i would share my bargain.. Well it's not really a bargain, it's just the normal price over here.. Betty Crocker Brownie mixes for 79 cents......

All I need is an egg, 1/4 cup of oil and water....

This is now my new signature dessert, after school treat, VT treat and any other place where i have to take food.... I' NEVER making things from scratch over here.....

After I have finished with my box of tissues (my BBF) I'm going to replace it with a brownie mix..

Another Snow filled day...

On Saturday morning we had another decent snowfall over night... As half of us had been sick during the week, it was good to get outside and have some fun in the snow.....

We went out in our PJ's (notice there is no pics of me) because i didn't want to do more washing.

Let the fight begin.. I must admit us Woodward's get a bit violent in the snow...

We hadn't had breakfast before we went out... Eliza enjoying a different kind of snowball compared to back in Tassie....

We made our BEST EVER snow man so far.......

But later the day some one else had OUT DONE us in in the snowman competition as they made two big one's... we didn't think our snowman was that SO great then....

But in the end we probably shouldn't had gone outside as Eden went down with a cold after that and i have been carrying around a box of tissues with me (my new BBF) all week....

I think that's the end for us playing in the snow... well at least until December.
