Christmas Time

Tonight we went out to Deloraine for their Christmas Activity, it was a great night. We all got dressed up in period costume. The night was about when Jesus was born so we had sheets as dresses and pillow cases on our heads.. At the start off the night you had to go and get your bag of tokens to spend at the various stalls..You could buy things like Camel Spit, bread with dips, savoury food from the Pita Inn and dessert's from two handsome men...lol Eliza loved the Caesar pita, the Orange Cake and Camel Spit...

This is our bag off tokens , you got enough to something from each stall and then an extra one so you could go back and have your favourite one twice...

We made two loaves of Date and Nut Loaf, to my surprise it was really yummy. They had other things like date cookies, orange cake and Turish Delight..The women at the Pita Inn were kept busy with their popular dishes...Good work ladies....

We had such a fun night and Thank You for all the people who put in all the effort to make it a great night..

High School 2010

This week has been very busy and it was because it was Phebe last week as a Grade 6 student at Riverside Primary. So Tuesday ( which also was my birthday), Phebe and her HOT date for the evening ( Mr Woodward ). She had a great time and all her friends looked really nice and were very excited about the dinner. Of course it's always great to have your Dad there to show you his dance moves....

The next day all the Grade 5/6 were lucky enough to head off to Bridport for the day. It was really nice weather so they had a great time...
On Wednesday Phebe received another Award, "Aussie of the Month"is an award that is voted by the students in the school. From Prep to Grade 6 the students each month are incouraged to vote for someone in the kind who they think is a good role model.. I think that some off the prep kid's voted for her , because there was some funny reasons why they chose Phebe....
On Thrusday was the grade six assembly, which was sad for some of the students. Alice has been friends with Phebe since Kindergarten but is moving onto a private school next year, so it was good to get one last photo..

Yes Phebe look so happy to get another Award in Thursday Assembly. All this year Phebe has been an Public Relations Officer in the school's SRC, which she enjoyed very much..


Phebe has had a great week and is looking forward to moving onto High School. And as a parent I am glad that I can sleep in and not have to worry about making lunch's for a while.

Sarah was crying alot at the end off school, but Phebe's was strong , maybe she's happy that she is going to a school were her Father is not... POOR ELIZA....

Presentation Assembly

Last Thursday Riverside Primary School held their End of Year Presentation Assembly, so off to the High School we went.. Phebe was awarded with an Grade 6 Citizenship Award, which meant she had to go up the front to collect her $50 voucher from Mr Tony Roney who was from the Riverside Lions Club who sponsored the award...

I don't she wanted to go up the front or she was surprised to hear her name called out. As there was about 90 grade 6's and only 10 awards, so we very proud parents at this moment..

Also on the program was the grade 3-4 choir which sang a song called "Reach"as Riverside's motto is "Reach For The Stars"..Eliza has been in the choir from prep, she likes singing in the choir, but because of her height she is always standing at the back of the group...

Also at the Assembly the school got to say Thank You to any staff that were moving on or retiring next year. This was a sad moment for Eliza as Mrs Mc Kenzie is moving to Mowbray next year.. Mrs Mac has been Eliza's teacher for the last two year and is one of those teachers that you don't forget in a hurry.. She has been very good for Eliza and Eliza will miss her very much...Good Luck Mrs Mac
With still a Leaver's Dinner, more Assembly's and class party's left to do I will be glad when it's holidays...

Hat's on!!

Yes it's that time of year again.. Christmas time and photo's involving fluffy red and white hat's. I knew it was going to be a challenge with Eden this year so , first we went for a walk in the bush.. I need a better camera for this to look good.. but oh well!!
Santa if your reading this I would REALLY like an SLR fancy Camera...
Eliza and Phebe always like having their photo together.... Maybe not in a couple of years, so I better make the most of it!!!

Yes we are happy with the wardrobe choices, well some of us were.. Other's not so happy...

Movember...

Movember is back again.Gary and a few of his friends from work are in a team and growning moustaches for charity.. Movember is held in the month of November each year and guys can grow moustaches for charity and raise money for prostate cancer which affects a lot of men.

I'm happy that he is doing it for charity but i will be glad when he does shave it off at the end off the month..

Back in 2003 Gary's grade 6 class wanted to raise some money for the homeless in the Launceston area, so Gary gave them a challenge and told them if they raised $1000 he would shave his hair off.. Next thing you know we are sitting in the school assembly and Gary's up the front on the stage, standing next to him was a parent who was a hairdresser... Off with the hair and so he handed the cheque to the City Misson.. Even the TV crew were there. (must have been a slow news day!)

Do as I'm doing!

As most children do, they must do or try to copy us in every thing we do. Eden loves to copy us all the time. So the other day, i forgot to put the camera back in a high spot so Eden saw the chance to take it without me knowning and took some photo's...

So i guess this is Eden's blog..

Athletics Carnival

With the sun finally out the school oval finally dry Phebe and Eliza's school athletics carnival was held over 2 days. Phebe's house is BARNES and their colour is yellow. Here she is with Allissa the house captain for Barnes..
Eliza is in Thompson.Thompson was winning at the end of day one, so Eliza was very happy.When I went to say hi to Eliza i found her and her friends having a nice time and keeping themselves warm for the next race.

Ribbons for Day one. Heaps of running on Day 1, they both competed in the 800m, 400m,200m, but they also had some fun events like tunnel ball relay, tug-a-war and the beanbag drop relay..

Day two started off with the 100m and then 1500m. Phebe did a great job finishing 4th in Div 1 in the 100m. Both girls said they weren't going to do the 1500m after day 1 ,but they changed their minds.. With Phebe still got the Long jump and House relay to go I think they ware both going to glad it's all over at 3 o'clock
Both girls done a great job and heaps of fun hanging out with their friends outside.. But who will win ??? Barnes.. Thompson... or will it be Mr Woodward's house Freeland.... I will have to wait until the girls come home..

long weekend!

The long weekend in November is here and what to do.. Sun is shinning so off to the pool the girls go with their friend Lizzie. they must have enjoyed themselves, they were there for 5 hours...Phebe went to Bridport with the Wheeler's on Sunday, so it was just the 4 of us.. We headed of to City Park to check out what the monkeys had been up to..

Eden really liked the monkeys. You could sit there for hours and watch them for hours. We decided to go and see the ducks. The ducks weren't in a good mood.To lazy do get up and say hello.
Then off to the train. Eliza picked the back of course and off they went on the train ride. when the train ride had finished Eliza and I walked off because Eden was crying cause she wanted to go on it again.. We were saying "Who is that child....She is very noisy!!!"

well here goes part b... and have to do it backwards as the computer wont let me more the photo's, so here it goes.. When we drove up to Salt Lake we caught up with the Thueson's, they drove from idaho to see us. We always have fun when we hang out with David and Terra. The day started with lunch, more site seeing with the locals, dinner and lots of talking. If we ever moved to the states for a reason we would move near these guys.. (don't start any rumours)

My favourite pic of the temple in Salt Lake. We went on Sunday and ran around temple square to see if we could find an Australian Sister Missionary. We found one she was from Melbourne.

Next stop was hanging out with Robbie Hamblin.. He served in our ward about 7 years ago. Last time went went he took us to a BYU basketball game so his time he got us some VERY awesome tickets to the football game. this was fantastic. we both loved ever minute of it. Robbie didn't cause BYU lost...

The marching band was great and when they are not on the ground they are playing in the stands, it was always noisy.

Cosmo the mascot was kind enough to have his photo with us... he actually likes his photo taken..

You know that you are in Utah when you see a temple every 5 mintutes..

My first Favourite shopping was WALMART . Its a combination of candy and wacky American themed things. Miss you already xxxxxx

USA Part A

Well we finally made it. Our trip of a lifetime (that's what Gary called it). First stop Disneyland, the happiest place on earth. Some children didn't think so, crying kids everywhere.. It was the happiest place for me until I found out that SPACE MOUNTAIN was closed..Oh well i had to go and find another favourite ride..

So i stuck to the good old teacups..I love this ride, it's where all the little kids hang out. and the big kids too. He faster you spin in disk he faster you go... I love just sitting back and wacthing everyone else having fun..


It was lots of fun chasing the characters around the park to get your photo with them.. it was nice and hot in LA so they were mostly near shaded area's. This is one of our favourite photo's.

While in were in Anaheim were we lucky to catch a Los Angles baseball game. Her is Gaz with his big finger. It was huge, but not as noisy as we thought it would be. They only made noise when the White Sox's picther came out to bat!! (later was told that no team likes him)
Next stop was LAS VEGAS.. Lots of shopping, lucky most of it was inside was it was VERY HOT!! Gary shopped liked a girl in this town.. I wish every shop had a couch so I could sit down and relax while Gary the fashion Queen tried on everything... One of the highlights was see a "Vegas" show, we went and saw David Copperfield.. He was amazing we were near the front and he made this full sized car appear. It was pretty good...(I'm sure he has had some work done!!)


On the way to Provo we stopped off at Bryce Canyon. This too was amazing and beautiful too see. We didn't get to see all off it as we still had a bit of driving to do and plus the rain was coming.. then we had a long drive up to Park City, this was when i found out that Gaz was sick of listing to the GPS and was horrible at "I SPY".. What kind off word is" WIFEY"
