Smackrels

Smackrels is a term that we use with our friend Kate... She used to teach with Gary and we used to go around to Kate's when the girls were little and we would sit outside and have "Smackrels"...
It has been a busy summer for both of us and we finally pinned Kate down to come around....
Kate loves the girls and we sit and talk about when the girls were little and how Eliza always used to spill drinks on Kate's carpet....

Kate wanted to send a pic of the girls to her Mum in Smithton, as she has not met Eden and couldn't how much the girls have grown...
Can't wait until Easter to have "Smackrels"again... Thanks Kate xxxx

I now know how to spell Hawthorn!

Last night a group of us went to see the first ALF game in Launceston for the year.. The Tassie Hawks play about four games a year, so we usually try to go to a couple of games a year. Hawthorn were playing Richmond so since none of our teams was playing ,Gary, Eliza and myself decided to go for the Mighty Tigers. Don't the Horsman's look sooo cute all dressed up in their Richmond gear. The night was of to a positive start..
When we got inside the gates the Hawthorn mascot "HAWKA" was hanging around, so Gaz wanted to have a photo with him..

Getting reading for the big game, not many people there at this point, but as you can see some members of our group for ready for the big match..

The sponsors of the game, NAB were giving out these blow up sticks that you banged together and mad some noise.. Gaz and Eliza had fun with them when the game was a bit boring..

This is my " Dad when are Richmond going to win a game" photo.......

Some of the action on the field. In the end it was a good game, but Hawthorn won buy alot and because we were sitting right besides the Hawthorn cheer squad, every time they kicked a goal they spelt out Hawthorn in their chant.....
We all know now how to spell Hawthorn....

Better luck next time Richmond...

What time is it?

It's back to school time. 2010 is going to be exciting for both girls, Phebe is in grade 7, first year of High School. Yesterday all the grade 7's went for about 2 hours just to get used to the school, find their locker and work out how to work it, and met their home room teacher. So today was the first full day complete with uniform.
Eliza on the other hand had her first day yesterday and was very happy to be in grade 5.. In grade 5 you get to do more things like help the kinder's with their PE lessons, a way cooler music teacher, Friday sport and most of all CAMP... Camp i think is in March this year which Eliza is looking forward to.

Glad I'm taking happy snaps of them now , i don't think they will have happy faces when the homework comes rolling in, as Eliza's teacher has told her that she will have homework.

I hope the girls have great years this year and make heaps of new friends.. I don't think that Eliza was happy about Phebe wanting to share some love this morning..

eden turns 2

On Thursday our baby Eden turned 2. The day started by opening her presents from us then she watched her new Hi 5 video while eating her toast.. Hi 5 is her favourite show and we have tickets to see them in April in Hobart.. Later in the day her grandparents came for a visit. Nanna Penney brought her some blocks, clothes and videos and most off all some yummy lunch.. Pop Fix-it (cause he fixes things) and Roz also brought more clothes and more video's..
Pop and Eden were having a wonderful time having a balloon fight, it was so much fun that Eliza joined in as well. As we were going to the Bike Centre at 7pm we had a brownie cake when the Woodward side off the family came around.. That meant more presents, more video's from Nanna Pat and Unlce Wayne and a Hi 5 bag and hat from Auntie Maxine, Unlce Micheal, Sarah and Brad...

Lisa booked the Bike Centre about two months ago so all the girls we go to the gym with could get all the kids together before school goes back. A few of the girls couldn't make it so it's a good excuse to have another gathering. Gaz and Jared were on sausage sizzle duty, as you could see they were hard at work....Since it was Eden's Birthday I decided to bring a cake. Moono is a orange charterer from the show Yo Gabba, its one of her favourite show's.. Everyone thought it was a Monster from Monsters Inc..

Eden and Kobe were having fun playing in the playground. We were saying " Kobe give Eden a Kiss" and he kept on shaking his head saying No!!!

Everyone was having fun when it was dry and when the rain began and it seemed like it wasn't going to stop either. We kept on saying to the kids to get out off the rain, but in the end the kids WON and the parents gave up!!!!!

All the kids were soaked through, so the water fights started.. Lisa and I joined in as we were wet anyway from running getting Kobe and Eden. It was so much fun, but i won....

Soon all the kids had taken their shoes off... and Kobe's pants...

We have been to the bike centre alot off times over the years, but this was the BEST TIME EVER that we have had there.. We will always remember Eden's 2nd birthday.Thank You Lisa for booking it.

As Phebe and Eliza are a bit older than Eden the sandpit has been looking a bit sad lately so we thought for Eden's birthday we would put some more sand and make it fun to play in again.. I think Phebe and Eliza will be making Sand castles when they come home from school. Have fun girlsxxxxx

King of the tyre

Every year down Bridport we have a KING OF THE TYRE challenge, where you take the tyre out on the water and the aim is to try and stand up on the tyre... It's pretty hard cause while you are trying to do it other people are trying to get up and they are also trying to push you off.....
The girls thought they would play on it before they took it out....
Hop on girls it's lots off fun.........

Felicity, Lizzie, Phebe and Eliza off to sea.. Will they win against the tyre or will the tyre bet them....

Looks like we are in a bit off trouble girls......... Should we help them...Let's just wait for a while..

Yes the girls we in trouble I think they want to go on a Holiday to Flinders Island.... Funny thing was there was about 10 off us sitting on the beach... Lifesaver we aren't... A kind guy with a kayak came and saved them... Will the tyre come out again on Australia Day or will it stay safe on the beach....

Bridport 09

This year we were invited to stay at Bridport with a few friends... The accommodation we stayed at was called Bayview and it was up the top of a hill so it had a great view...
We stayed from Monday and left on New Year's Day and there was plenty of things to do...
Our night's usually started off with a game or two of "duck, duck, goose" for the little people and big people and then the competitive people came out with the "best out off three" volleyball..
I don't know who won in the end but it was lot's of fun...
Those who chose not to play yolleyball, were happy sitting around and waiting for Tayla to hand out her chocolate.. Nice work Tayla..
There was also plenty of time to hang out with your friends and make funny faces for the camera...

Or just sit by yourself and enjoy the peace and quite.. I think it was 5 minutes before jack was joined by his friends...
During the day some families headed of to the beach.. It was really nice weather the whole week which was good, but not for some as some people got very bad sunburn...

On New year's Eve night lot's off people came down for the day and stayed for a BBQ at night .. It was also heaps off fun. Jay was pretending he was a DJ, but every time I tried to take the photo he would act normal....

We had a pinyata for the kids. Which was hard to break, even the 12yr olds couldn't brake it...
This little boy loved having his photo taken.. I don't know why???
Everyone had glow sticks and was dancing the night away..
Sparklers came out 11:30 and everyone was waiting for the Countdown on the deck.. Some of us "older folk "wanted the countdown to start sooner than later.. It was a great week and everyone enjoyed themselves and now I have to do heaps of washing and unpacking........
Thank you to Flick and Rob for organising the week and letting us be part of it...

Christmas Time

Tonight we went out to Deloraine for their Christmas Activity, it was a great night. We all got dressed up in period costume. The night was about when Jesus was born so we had sheets as dresses and pillow cases on our heads.. At the start off the night you had to go and get your bag of tokens to spend at the various stalls..You could buy things like Camel Spit, bread with dips, savoury food from the Pita Inn and dessert's from two handsome men...lol Eliza loved the Caesar pita, the Orange Cake and Camel Spit...

This is our bag off tokens , you got enough to something from each stall and then an extra one so you could go back and have your favourite one twice...
We made two loaves of Date and Nut Loaf, to my surprise it was really yummy. They had other things like date cookies, orange cake and Turish Delight..The women at the Pita Inn were kept busy with their popular dishes...Good work ladies....
We had such a fun night and Thank You for all the people who put in all the effort to make it a great night..
